What is a small kamado BBQ (13 inch)?

A small kamado BBQ is a ceramic barbecue in the 13 inch size, with a 27.5 cm grate: good for 2 to 4 people. You do the same things with it as with a big kamado: grilling, smoking and baking pizza, between 90 and 400 °C. Its size means it fits on a balcony or small patio, and at around 28 kg you can take it along to a campsite or holiday home.

Frequently asked questions about the small kamado BBQ

How many people is a 13 inch kamado suitable for?

For 2 to 4 people. The 27.5 cm grate holds four burgers or two decent steaks at a time, for example.

Can a small kamado do the same as a big one?

Yes. The ceramic, the temperature control and the range from 90 to 400 °C are the same as on the large sizes. Only the cooking surface is smaller, so you cook in smaller batches.

Can I take the small kamado on holiday?

Yes, and that is exactly the strength of this size. It weighs around 28 kg and sits on a separate stand, so it fits in the boot and comes along to the campsite or holiday home.

Will a small kamado fit on a balcony?

Yes. Put it on a stable, heat-resistant surface and keep some distance from the wall. Because a kamado keeps the heat inside, it also gives off less smoke than an open barbecue.
