What is the best kamado of 2026?
There's no single best kamado — but there is a best kamado per situation. For most households with an average budget, Grill Bill's Pro III Large is the strongest value for money: comparable equipment to brands that cost 500 to 1,500 euros more. Looking for the lowest entry price, Grill Guru is cheaper than every other brand in this comparison, Grill Bill included. Want the biggest capacity, go for Big Green Egg's XLarge, Primo's Oval XL or Kamado Joe's Big Joe III. And want a warranty with no conditions at all, The Bastard and Grill Guru both give 20 years with no course or dealer requirement.
- Best value on a complete Large: Grill Bill (€ 1,599), with 3 years of warranty on everything except the ceramic.
- Lowest entry price: Grill Guru (€ 899 for a complete Large).
- Biggest capacity: Big Green Egg XLarge, Primo Oval XL and Kamado Joe Big Joe III, all three around a 61 cm grate or bigger.
- Longest warranty with no conditions: The Bastard and Grill Guru, both 20 years on the ceramic with no course.
- Unique shape: Primo, the only brand in this silo with an oval grill and two cooking zones at once.
The best kamado per goal
Six categories, each with a winner and why. The full comparison per brand is on the separate comparison pages.
- Grill Bill
Best value for money
Our Pro III Large costs € 1,599 and offers comparable equipment to brands that ask 500 to 1,500 euros more — with 3 years of warranty on everything except the ceramic. See the comparisons with The Bastard, Kamado Joe, Big Green Egg, Monolith and Primo. - Grill Guru
Lowest entry price
A complete Large for € 899, cheaper than every other brand in this comparison. The warranty on other parts is shorter than Grill Bill's though, at 2 years on the firebox versus 3 years. - Big Green Egg, Primo, Kamado Joe
Biggest capacity
Cooking for large groups, the XL variants of these three brands go up to a 61 cm grate or bigger — Primo's Oval XL even up to 4,386 cm² with the full shelf system. - The Bastard and Grill Guru
Warranty with no conditions
Both brands give 20 years on the ceramic with no course or dealer requirement. With Big Green Egg and Kamado Joe the warranty is tied to an authorised dealer; with Grill Bill the warranty runs up to 20 years after a free course. - Primo
Most innovative shape
The only brand in this silo to build oval, with two separate cooking zones for grilling and indirect cooking at the same time. That does come at the highest price premium at a comparable size. - Big Green Egg
Best-known brand
The brand that put the kamado category on the map, with the largest dealer network worldwide, the biggest community and the highest resale value. That comes with a strict dealer requirement on the warranty.

Frequently asked questions about the best kamado of 2026
Which kamado has the best value for money?
On a complete Large, Grill Bill's Pro III Large (€ 1,599) is the strongest value for money in this comparison: comparable equipment to brands that ask 500 to 1,500 euros more, with 3 years of warranty on everything except the ceramic. Looking purely for the lowest price, Grill Guru is cheaper at € 899.
Which brand gives the longest warranty?
On the ceramic itself, The Bastard, Grill Guru and Kamado Joe give the longest term with no course requirement: 20 years (Kamado Joe: lifetime as long as you're the first owner). Grill Bill runs up from 10 to 20 years after a free online course. On other parts (metal, gaskets, accessories) Grill Bill gives the longest term of all seven brands at 3 years; Primo gives the shortest at 30 days on thermometer and gasket.
Which kamado is the biggest?
Primo's Oval XL has the biggest total cooking surface at 4,386 cm² (including the shelf system). On grate diameter, Big Green Egg's XLarge and Kamado Joe's Big Joe III are the biggest round kamados, both around 61 cm.
Which brand sells direct, without a dealer?
Grill Bill and Monolith both sell directly from the manufacturer, with no dealer network. Grill Guru sells both direct and through dealers. The other brands — The Bastard, Kamado Joe, Big Green Egg and Primo — go through a dealer or reseller network.
Is a more expensive kamado always better?
No. The ceramic itself barely differs between serious brands above a thousand euros; the price difference mainly comes from sales route (dealer margin versus direct), equipment and brand name. Grill Guru proves that with a complete Large for € 899, and Grill Bill with comparable equipment for hundreds to thousands of euros less than the pricier brands in this comparison.
Where can I find the full comparison per brand?
Every comparison in this silo has its own page, with RRPs, specifications and warranty terms side by side: Grill Bill against The Bastard, Kamado Joe, Big Green Egg, Grill Guru, Monolith and Primo, plus a direct comparison between The Bastard and Big Green Egg without Grill Bill in it.
