A magnetic knife stand is the calmest way to store good knives. You do not leave them loose in a drawer, where the edges knock against other cutlery, and you do not have to wedge them into narrow slots either. You set them against it, the magnets pick them up, and you see at a glance which knife you need.
Why a magnetic knife stand beats a drawer
The edge of a knife is its most vulnerable part. Every time it touches metal, ceramic or stone, you lose sharpness. In a drawer that happens every time you open it. On this stand, only the side of the blade touches the wood, and that is exactly the part nothing can happen to.
- Knives stand apart, the edge touches nothing
- Usable on both sides, also for short knives
- Solid oak with a warm, open look
- No closed slots where moisture and crumbs collect
- You grab the right knife without searching
- From Style de Vie, weighs about 1 kilo and stands stable
How to use it
Place the stand on a flat, dry section of worktop, not right next to the sink. Place a knife with the spine against the wood first, then tilt the blade against it, rather than tapping it against the wood edge-first. That way the edge stays untouched.
Caring for the wood
Wipe the oak with a lightly damp cloth and dry it immediately. Do not put the stand in the dishwasher and do not leave it standing in water. If the wood turns dull, rub in a thin layer of neutral wood oil.
