This bamboo kamado handle is the direct replacement for the handle on the lid of your Grill Bill Pro II or Classic. The grip section is made of bamboo and carries the metal Grill Bill 3D logo, the bracket underneath is made of matte black coated stainless steel. That way the part matches the look of the rest of your kamado, and it also feels pleasant in the hand right after you've been firing up.
When to replace the bamboo kamado handle
The lid of a kamado is heavy ceramic and the handle takes heat, grease and fingers with every session. After a few seasons the wood discolours, the mounting points start to give a little, or the grip begins to wobble. At that point replacing it is smarter than carrying on: a loose handle pulls the lid askew, and you'll notice that when closing it.
- Bamboo grip, stays comfortable to hold after firing up
- Metal 3D logo, so you can recognise an original part
- Bracket made of matte black coated stainless steel
- Four mounting points for a sturdy, stable fit
- Weighs around 1000 grams including bracket and mounting hardware
Fitting the handle
Work with a cold kamado and secure the lid, or have someone help, so it can't slam shut. Unscrew the old handle and keep the nuts: you'll need them again. Position the new bracket, tighten the four points crosswise finger-tight and then tighten them evenly. Overtightening on ceramic is never a good idea.
Does it fit your kamado?
This isn't a universal part. The dimensions and mounting points are matched to the Grill Bill Pro II and Classic. Not sure which model you have? Check your existing bracket before you order.
