This stainless steel grill grate 21 inch is the part you cook on most on your Grill Bill. Stainless steel doesn't rust, withstands the high temperatures of charcoal in a kamado, and cleans up in no time. You order it separately here: as a replacement for a grate that's worn or warped, or as a second one so a clean grate is always ready while the other cools down or soaks.
Why a stainless steel grill grate 21 inch
Of all the parts in your kamado, the cooking grate takes the biggest beating: heat, fat, salt and charcoal residue, session after session. Stainless steel doesn't corrode from that, and unlike cast iron you don't need to season or oil it before use. You brush it off, rinse it clean and it can go straight back on the barbecue. That saves maintenance, and it doesn't matter if you leave it outside for a week.
- Stainless steel, rust-free even after years of outdoor use
- Withstands the high temperatures of a charcoal kamado
- No seasoning or oiling needed, unlike cast iron
- Easy to brush clean or soak
- Direct replacement for a worn or warped grate
- Made for the Grill Bill kamado, 21 inch
Cleaning
Brush the grate clean while it's still warm: caked-on fat releases most easily then. If there's a stubborn layer, let it soak for an hour in warm water with washing-up liquid and go over it once more with a brush.
