The HORL 2 Cruise is the compact entry point into the HORL sharpening system and takes care of the hardest part of sharpening for you: keeping the angle constant. The knife is held magnetically against an angle block, the sharpener rolls over the blade and follows the same line every time. So you don't have to work by feel, and you don't accidentally undo the edge you just set.
Who the HORL 2 Cruise suits
For anyone with a set of good kitchen or BBQ knives who wants to touch them up themselves, without a course in freehand sharpening. You set the angle block on the countertop, place the knife against it and roll. Within a few minutes per knife, you're cutting cleanly through a tomato's skin again and portioning meat off the kamado without wrestling.
How the sharpening works
Start with the coarse side until you feel a burr along the full length. Flip the sharpener to the fine side and finish the edge with the same calm motion, an equal number of strokes on both sides. Done. The more often you do this, the shorter it takes: a knife you touch up monthly is finished in a minute.

Bill's tipChoose 15 degrees for Japanese-ground knives and 20 degrees for sturdy European knives. Stick to that angle afterwards, and you'll never need to reset the whole edge again.
Want more discs and a finer finish? Compare it with the HORL 2 Pro knife sharpener. Give it a fixed spot on the countertop with the station in oak. The rest of the system is at HORL knife sharpeners.
